Box is missing the top insert that holds lantern inside box. Thanks!, here is an amazing example of early Military gas fuel lantern similar to a Coleman with the original box. There was some fuel left in the tank, so a little bit of rust there but not bad at all. There may be some tiny imperfections, but this is near mint.

Box has one tear on the bottom which is just outside layer and not affecting box structure. It appears this was lit one time. It has fuel left in it. I have not attempted to light it up, but feel confident will work just fine.

The only extras are in the side of lantern tank. So it is nearly new, but not unlit. The mantle isn't even fully burned around the thread that attaches it to lantern. Exceptional even.

There was no black on the glass or chimney to speak of. No paperwork.
